Jewellers in Jordan buy used gold today, Thursday, 15 October 2026, at 80.40 JOD per 21k gram, 69.38 JOD for 18k, 94.77 JOD for 24k and 51.07 JOD for 14k (per the syndicate bulletin). This "buy price" is what matters when you sell; it sits below the "sell price" (84.20 JOD for 21k) by the dealer margin.
Used gold, which jewellers call scrap, is valued by weight and karat only. The workmanship you paid at purchase is not refunded, whether the piece is intact or broken, because the shop melts it down. A 20 g 21k bangle is therefore worth about 1,608.00 JOD today regardless of its design.
Deductions: the weight of stones and non-gold solder, and sometimes one or two dinars per gram if the piece is unmarked and needs testing. Not acceptable: an unannounced "breaking" or "testing" fee. Compare two or three shops; the difference can reach a dinar per gram.
